Susan Robins, a fiercely independent free spirit whose laughter and generosity touched everyone she met, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the age of 79 on “her acre” in Sahuarita, Arizona.
Born December 17, 1945, in Los Angeles and raised in Long Beach, Susan dedicated much of her career to Robertshaw, where she worked for many years. After decades in Southern California surrounded by friends and family, she moved in 2010 to Arizona then later to the home she lovingly called “her acre,” where she spent the last 15 years of her life delighting in the company of beloved animals—dogs, cats, ferrets, turtles, ducks, and 2 donkeys.
Susan’s heart knew no bounds. She is survived by: Children: Robin Green Sanchez and Robert (Peggy) Wilson. Grandchildren: Roger Sanchez, Nathan (Natalie) Sanchez, Paige Wilson, and Tyler Wilson. Great Grandchildren: Elliot Sanchez, Emma Sanchez and arriving soon Baby E.
Her loving devotion ensured her children never lacked for love, support, or opportunity. Her grandchildren remember her as the fun, caring grandmother who instilled in them a sense of freedom and joy. She now rejoins her brother, Marc Robins, who preceded her in 2023.
A devoted member of the Beth Shalom Jewish Temple in Green Valley, Arizona, Susan also gave generously of her time at the Rock Church childcare center. She believed in seeing the good in everyone and often overextended herself to support family, friends, and community alike. Strong-willed and independent from childhood onward, she had a fierce will and a big heart—qualities that made her both a blessing and a beloved icon to all who knew her.
A Celebration of Susan’s life will be planned for this summer in Huntington Beach. All who knew her will be invited to celebrate her life, share a favorite memory, and carry forward the light she brought into the world.
Please reach out to the family if you would like to participate.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Animal League of Green Valley, the Rock Church Childcare Center or Beth Shalom Jewish Temple, in honor o Susan’s lifelong generosity and faith.
