Stephen Andrew Howard

Stephen Andrew Howard, age 77, of Green Valley, Arizona, passed away on the evening of Tuesday, January 27, following a courageous battle with liver and colon cancer.

Stephen was born on October 1, 1948, in Safford, Arizona, to Bobbie Jo (Elmer) Howard and Zenos J. Howard. He was a graduate of Thatcher High School and later earned a bachelor's degree from Walsh College. Stephen devoted more than 35 years of service to Phelps Dodge and Freeport-McMoRan before retiring and settling in Green Valley.

Stephen found great enjoyment in playing golf, watching western films, spending time with his family, and sharing quiet moments with his beloved dogs.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Howard; his children, Daniel Howard (Kori), ZJ Howard (Daniel Grondahl), and Holly John; his grandchildren, Chase Howard and Alexandra Howard‑Vasile (Donny); his great‑grandson, Colton Vasile; and his siblings, Susie Freestone (Tommy), John Howard (Jenny), and Eddie Howard.

Stephen will be remembered for his dedication to his family and career and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
