Shari Lynn Chamblee (nee Hicks), 52, passed away peacefully in Tucson, Arizona, on Friday, October 17, 2025. Born on November 24, 1973, in Hueytown, Alabama, Shari was a giver in every sense of the word.

From her youth in Alabama and her studies at Jefferson State Community College, to her active involvement in various groups and ministries in Tucson, and through her nine years as Executive Director of a children’s activity center, Shari was known for her empathy, dedication, and ability to solve problems with grace and compassion. She built community with ease, and had a unique quality to make everyone around her feel comfortable and seen, offering her love through action.

More than anything, Shari loved her family. She was a devoted mother, always attentive to her four children, their biggest cheerleader, and their steady home through life’s successes and challenges. Her greatest joy was found in the happiness of her children and the smiles of her grandchildren. She shared a deep love and enduring friendship with her husband, Jay, celebrating even the smallest accomplishments with him.

Shari is survived by her devoted husband, Jay Huffstutler; her loving children, Drew (Alexandra), Abigail, Aubri, and Kyle; and her step-sons, Zack (Caylie) and Alex. She was the adored grandmother of Saban, Elianna, and Everett. Shari is also survived by her mother, Charlene Hicks, and her brothers, Michael and Alan. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Amber, and her father, Roy Hicks.

Shari will be forever remembered; her love, compassion, and kindness living on in the hearts she touched.

Isaiah 26:8 “Yes Lord, walking in the ways of your truth; we eagerly wait for you. For your name and your renown are the desires of our hearts.”

In honor of Shari’s legacy, her family invites those who wish to pay tribute to consider contributing to a scholarship fund established for her beloved grandchildren: https://gofund.me/48e44eb87
