Richard Bracamonte, 48, passed away on April 22, 2026, as the result of a tragic car accident. Born on December 23, 1977, Richard lived a life defined by passion, loyalty, and an unrelenting devotion to the people and things he loved. He was a beloved son, a cherished brother, and a loyal friend who will be deeply missed.
Richard was a man of sharp intellect and deep conviction. He attended the University of California San Diego and later earned an associate degree in Sports Broadcasting from Full Sail University — a testament to his belief that learning never stops and that it is never too late to pursue something meaningful. He carried that same determined spirit into every conversation, every debate, and every relationship in his life.
Those who knew Richard knew that politics and ideas were his lifeblood. He followed the issues of the day with genuine passion and engaged with the world around him thoughtfully and fearlessly. He believed that ideas mattered, that truth was worth defending, and that a good debate was one of life’s finer pleasures. He wasn’t arguing to win — well, sometimes he was. He was arguing because he cared. And the people who loved him wouldn’t have had it any other way.
Richard was a devoted sports fan whose love for the Arizona Wildcats ran deep, matched by his unwavering loyalty to the St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, and Golden State Warriors. Baseball and golf held a special place in his heart — sports he appreciated not just for the competition, but for the strategy, the stories, and the connection they brought with the people around him. He followed his teams with loyalty and enthusiasm, and game days were simply better with Richard in the room.
Through all of life’s seasons, Richard faced his challenges with honesty and courage, emerging as the most authentic version of himself. He was, above all else, unapologetically and fully Richard — and those who knew him in his later years saw a man who had found his peace and wore it with conviction. He poured his love into his family without reservation, showing up for the people he cared about in ways that will never be forgotten.
Richard found a special joy in his beloved dog, Daisy, who came into his life three years ago and never looked back. A loving, exuberant soul who gives her whole heart to everyone she meets — and then some — Daisy was instrumental in Richard’s happiness and remains with the family, a cherished reminder of the tender heart he carried beneath his intensity. The world is quieter without him, even if Daisy is not.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Bracamonte; and his uncles, Tony Bracamonte, Robert Bracamonte, and Al Hirsch.
Richard is survived by his devoted mother, Nelly Bracamonte; his sister, Erika Bracamonte, and her husband John Jackson; his aunts, Chris Bracamonte, Linda Perry, and Rosewitha Hirsch; his uncle, Ronald Perry; his cousins, Mark Bracamonte, Paul Bracamonte, Adina Perry, and Kurtis Perry; and his cherished dog, Daisy. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
