Raymond J. Brock

December 18, 1952 — February 19, 2022

Brock, Raymond J. (Moore, Raymond Bradley), a.k.a. Deputy Ray, a.k.a. Super D.A.R.E. Man, officially went off duty and set his sights for heaven following a year-long battle with cancer that ended on February 19th, 2022.

Raymond was born in Biloxi, Mississippi on December 18, 1952 to Josephine Prather and Arthur Wellington Brock III. Raymond was raised in Tucson, AZ by Josephine and Elmer Moore.

He attended Tucson High School and placed 8th in the Junior Davis Cup. Later, he went on to attend the
U of A. He was enlisted into the Navy and served as an Internal Communications Electrician during the Vietnam war.

Raymond married Sharon Brock (Simmer) in Manitowoc, WI. in 1973 and together they went on to have three sons. Raymond lived his life through service. He retired twice, most recently from Pima County’s Property and Evidence division and also from the Pima County Sheriff's department where he taught D.A.R.E. across the greater part of Tucson for 17 years and became a pilot in the Aero Squadron.

Raymond will be remembered best for his dedication to keeping kids off drugs and by those closest to him for his commitment and loving devotion to his family, specifically his wife following a debilitating stroke in 1995. He enjoyed singing to his wife, flying R/C planes, wood working, El Molinto margaritas, and making his “World Famous Brock Southwestern” foods.

Raymond is preceded in death by his father Arthur Brock, step mother Ethel Brock, mother Josephine Moore, step father Elmer Moore and brothers Scott, and Arthur Moore. Raymond is survived by his wife Sharon; brother LaMarcus Moore (Amy); 3 sons, Eric (Katy), Keith (Jessica), and Will Brock (Monica); and grandchildren Owen, Arthur, Clay, Olivia, Isabela, Renee, Lincoln and Scarlett.
