Listen to Obituary

Phillip “Alan” Cox, a proud rancher, plasterer, and a man of grit and heart, passed away on June 4, 2025 at the age of 82. He was tough as nails, endlessly hardworking, and deeply loved by all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Cox; daughters, Shannon and Tammy Cox (John Pesqueira); and cherished grandchildren, Tyler and Hunter Pesqueira. He is also survived by his brothers, William “Bill” Cox (Cheryl) and John “Pete” Cox (Shirley) as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William R. Cox and Marjorie R. Cox and brother Donald “Don” Cox.

He also leaves behind his three loyal cattle dogs, who rarely left his side - especially his best friend, Dude, who went everywhere with him - riding shot gun in the truck, walking the land, and sitting quietly by his side at the end of a long day.

We will be celebrating his life this fall, with family and friends gathering to honor the man who gave us so much.
