Philip Lipton, aged 75, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on October 11, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tucson.

Philip was born in Dallas, Texas to Daniel and Peggy (nee Kahn) Lipton on May 24, 1950. After the family moved to San Francisco, California in 1957, he attended Town School for Boys and Lick-Wilmerding High School, graduating in 1972 from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon with a BA in Psychology. After college, he returned to San Francisco to join his family’s business. He later left the family business and opened Charmers, a retail party goods store. Philip married Judith Officer on March 5, 1988 in San Francisco, California and became the proud father of a beautiful daughter, Phoebe Kelly, in 1990. He was the owner of Charmers for 25 years before moving to Ketchum, Idaho, where he joyously pursued his passions of skiing, hiking, fly fishing, and woodworking. In 2011 he and Judy moved to a small village in the southwest of France, and later lived in Barcelona, Spain, They traveled throughout both countries, making many new friends and enjoying exciting adventures. Upon returning to the United States, Philip rekindled his passion of working with wood, creating many beautiful and useful pieces. He shared his love of his craft with his daughter, teaching her the skills and knowledge he had developed over the years.

Philip is survived by his wife, Judith and his daughter, Phoebe Kelly. He is preceded in death by his parents, and by his brother, William Lipton, of New York City.
