Paula June Stoner, born on May 31, 1966, in Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on November 9, 2024, in Tucson, Arizona. A dedicated educator, Paula devoted 29 years of her life to teaching, instilling a passion for reading in countless students. She was particularly proud of her ability to inspire even those who initially struggled with reading.
Paula was a vibrant personality with many interests. A lifelong fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers, she cherished the thrill of their World Series win before her passing. She also had a deep love for the arts, frequently attending Broadway musicals that brought her immense joy.
Paula is survived by her father and stepmother, Paul and Elizabeth Stoner; sisters, Carol Stoner and Debbie Rich; brothers, Dallas Stoner and Aaron Stoner; and stepsisters, Tina Young McDevitt and Megan Sharon Fortney, along with stepbrothers, TJ Young and Scott Young. She is preceded in death by her mother, Wanda June Huddleston, and her brother, Robert W. Fussell.
Paula's commitment to her students and her unwavering spirit will be remembered by all who knew her. Her legacy of love for reading and her infectious enthusiasm for life will continue to inspire those she touched throughout her life.
We will be holding a memorial/open house for Paula where we hope you’ll share your memories of Paula with all of us. Food will be served.
