Michael Stephen Serio, born September 23, 1952, in Columbus, Ohio, died September 27, 2026, in Tucson, Arizona.
Michael will be remembered as a man of kindness, humor, and deep devotion to the people he loved. He was the anchor of his family, someone whose steady care and generous heart shaped the lives around him. Those who knew him experienced not only his warmth, but also the abiding love with which he looked after others.
His life was marked by service, music, and wide-ranging talent. He served in the United States Navy as a Seaman Apprentice Nuke Tech for submarines, a role that spoke to both discipline and skill. Beyond his military service, he was also a private pilot, carrying into the skies the same confidence and curiosity that marked so much of his life.
Music was one of Michael’s great gifts and enduring joys. He played acoustic guitar and Native American flute, and he performed professionally as well as in public settings. He served as music director for pow-wows, bringing dedication and artistry to those gatherings, and he also performed with Frank Silverhawk in Silverwolf. His presence in music was not only expressive, but communal, offering others beauty, connection, and spirit through every performance.
Above all, Michael’s life was rooted in family. He is lovingly remembered by Dominic, his eldest child; Kelly, along with Mick and their son Everett, and by Tarryn, along with Brittney and their daughter Olive. In these family bonds, Michael’s love continues forward through children and grandchildren who carry his memory with them.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Casey Serio, and his mother, Marry Francis Gibson.
Michael Stephen Serio leaves behind the memory of a life lived with heart, talent, and steadfast care for others. He will be remembered for the music he made, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave so freely. His absence will be deeply felt, and his presence will remain enduring in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
