Listen to Obituary

With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Louis Victor Varelas, who was born on January 11, 1959, in Tucson, Arizona, and passed away on February 11, 2026, in his hometown of Tucson at the age of 67.

Negro was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose greatest joy in life was his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Varelas; his children, Christina Spykstra, Crystal Varelas, and Terry Black; his cherished grandchildren, Anissa, Ernie, Marissa, Milo, Makayla, Gianni, Gino, Sophia, Zeus, and Ezekiel; and his beloved great-granddaughter, Nova, who brought an extra sparkle to his heart.

Negro had a lifelong passion for working on classic cars. Whether restoring an engine, polishing chrome, or simply talking shop, he found pride and peace in the craftsmanship behind every vehicle. His yard was often his favorite place to tinker and gather, filled with projects, laughter, and stories shared with family and friends.

He was known for always having a joke ready. With Negro, you never quite knew if he was serious or joking — and that was part of his charm. His humor, playful spirit, and quick wit kept everyone smiling and on their toes.

For a time, he lived in Hawaiian Gardens, a chapter of his life that brought meaningful friendships and lasting memories. No matter where life took him, Tucson was home — the place where his story began and where it gently came to rest.

Negro will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his steady presence, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the generations who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
