Linda Hannalaura Napoli was born in 1946 in Fulda, Germany and grew up traveling all over while her father was in the military. She spent most of her time in New York, however, where she met the man she would marry, Richard. They were married 42 happy years until he passed in 2012.

Linda passed in the late hours on July 17th just two months shy of her 79th birthday. She was a kind woman and a hard worker. She was an amazing mom who taught me the value of hard work. She was a loving wife and raised her beautiful granddaughter as well. She was the kind of person you went to for help and most often put others before herself. She was my rock and my best friend. I wouldn't have made it without her.

Linda did many jobs, but made things work. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She is happy now and at peace with her husband. She wanted to be reunited with him. She is survived by her daughter, Melinda Elem and her granddaughter, Aminah Elem.

Good bye Mom, I will miss you everyday and I wish you could have been at the gate to pick me up. I love you so much.

I don’t even know where to start. My grandma was everything to me. Losing her is one of the hardest things I've ever gone through. I was not an easy kid growing up. Didn't like discipline and had anger problems. And my grandma dealt with it all. I am so grateful to my grandma for everything she’s done for me. She tried to give me everything I wanted, even if it meant not getting what she wanted. She was always so giving and kind to everyone. My grandma was a caregiver by profession. She took care of small children, the elderly, anybody who was in need. She was so good at what she did, and I would like to think that she has passed on these same qualities to me as I enter the caregiving profession.

I will never forget her. I’m also grateful she was there for me during the sad time when I lost my baby son. She will never see me get married or see the baby I will have someday. Towards the end she was in so much pain. I hated seeing her like that because I couldn't help. The past 2-3 years have been difficult ones for both of us. Her health deteriorated, and I helped her and took care of her. It’s wasn't easy, but I wouldn't take it back for the world. It was my way of saying thank you for all that she had done for me.

Grandma I love you so much and miss you every day. Love from your amazing granddaughter, Aminah.
