On October 9, 2026, the world grew a little quieter with the passing of Larry Eugene Wright, age 79, in Tucson, Arizona. Born on July 28, 1947, in Las Cruces, New Mexico, to Eugene and Clara Wright, Larry lived a life filled with music, laughter, stories, and the people he loved most.
Some people are remembered for what they did. Larry will be remembered for how he made people feel.
Whether gathered around a kitchen table, sitting on a porch, casting a fishing line, or listening to music, time spent with Larry felt special. He had a gift for telling stories that could make people laugh, relive old memories, or feel as though they had been right there beside him. He could turn an ordinary afternoon into one worth remembering.
Music was the heartbeat of Larry's life. Some of the most treasured memories involve guitars filling a room, songs carrying through family gatherings, and Larry playing alongside his brothers while everyone sat nearby listening. The sound of music, laughter, and stories shared between songs became the backdrop of countless cherished moments. Those memories live on and continue to bring comfort today.
Larry loved deeply and enjoyed life's simple pleasures. He loved fishing, making people laugh, sharing stories from years gone by, and spending time with the people who meant the most to him. He was known for his playful personality and for teasing his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews whenever the opportunity presented itself. Even the jokes and nicknames he handed out over the years have become treasured memories.
One of the greatest gifts Larry leaves behind is a lifetime of memories. Memories of holiday gatherings, family reunions, long conversations, spontaneous music sessions, road trips, campfires, and ordinary days that somehow became unforgettable simply because he was there. His presence was larger than life, but it was the warmth, humor, and love he shared so freely that will be missed most.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Clara Wright, and his brother, Perry Wright.
He leaves behind those who will forever cherish his memory, including his daughters, Jeanie Pike (Greg Pike) and Tammy LeBlanc (Jeff LeBlanc); his grandchildren, Jessica Miller (Adam Miller), Bo Bridge, Britney Goldin (Cameron Goldin), and Kayla LeBlanc; and his great-grandchildren, Paytynn Juker, Scarlett Miller, Oliver Hall, and Aden, Hailey, Cambri, and Cali Goldin. He is also survived by his siblings, Dale Wright, Irvin Wright (Beverly Wright), Ronnie Wright (Natalie Wright), and Sandra Irvin, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
There is comfort in imagining Larry reunited with those who went before him, once again surrounded by music, laughter, and stories. Though his voice may be silent, the melodies he played, the memories he helped create, and the love he shared will continue to echo through the lives of all who knew him.
The music, the memories, and Larry will never be forgotten. His song lives on in every story retold, every guitar played, and every gathering where loved ones come together to remember a man who made life a little brighter simply by being himself.
