Larry James Hamilton

Larry James Hamilton, age 76, of Tucson, Arizona went to be with the heavenly father on July 4, 2025.

Larry was born April 16, 1949, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to James “Curley” Hamilton and Ruby Violet Whitaker Hamilton. He was raised in the Indianapolis area and graduated from Greenwood High School. After high school he joined the U.S. Air Force where he served in the Vietnam War and became a Food Service Chef. He achieved the rank of TSgt and retired after 20 years. Drove for J.B. Hunt for a few years. Larry worked as a Federal Worker for the VA Hospital and Davis-Monthan AFB Food Services. Then became an Assistant Branch Manager for Tucson Newspapers, Inc before his final retirement.

His hobbies were Nascar and Country Music and taking care of his family.

Preceded in death by mother, Ruby Violet Whitaker Hamilton; father, James Hamilton and sisters, Karen Sue Hamilton and Patricia Ann Hamilton.

Survived by wife of 50+ years, Denise Louise Rodgers Hamilton; daughters, Mara Danielle Hamilton, Tonia Mae Hamilton Mourreale and spouse, Dominic Augustine Mourreale and daughter, Gabriella Anna Mourreale, and Melinda Allison Hamilton Dolan and spouse, Thomas Dolan, and children, Rieley Ann Dolan and Kaleb Thomas Dolan; sister, Kathy Marie Hamilton and brother, James Bryan Hamilton and children and grandchildren.

Visitation 6:00-8:00 PM, July 28, 2025 at Sensible Funerals and Cremation, 109 West Grant Road, Tucson, Arizona 85705.

Rosary, 8:30 AM, followed by Mass of Christian Burial, 9:00 AM, July 29, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Parish, 215 N. Craycroft Road, Tucson, Arizona 85711. The family requests that black not be worn to the service.

Interment with military honors, 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 29, 2025, All Faiths Memorial Park, 2151 S. Avenida Los Reyes, Tucson, Arizona 85748.
