Kerry Willard Amacker, 77, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on April 23, 2026.

Kerry was born on April 4, 1949, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Pearl and Willard Amacker. He attended Istrouma High School in North Baton Rouge. He grew up with a deep love for sports — a passion that started early in life. His father owned a fishing camp, and he grew up next to a golf course, which helped shape his love for sports. From fishing to golfing to football and baseball, he loved all sports and carried that passion with him throughout his life. He was also a die-hard LSU fan, something he carried with pride his entire life. He proudly served his country as a United States Army veteran, including service in Vietnam.

After his time in the military, Kerry made his way to Arizona, where he found his true home. He spent over 40 years in Tombstone, a place that meant everything to him. It was there that he met the love of his life, Arlene Amacker, and together they built a beautiful life. This year would have marked 50 years of marriage.

Kerry dedicated 37 years working at Fort Huachuca. He was known for living life his own way, never worrying about what others thought, and always staying true to himself. He had a deep love for music, sports, and the simple things in life — passions he passed down to his family. He was also a lifelong devoted Catholic, and his faith was an important part of his life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Arlene Amacker, and his children: Jeffery Amacker; Denise Amacker (Alex Helday, Damian Wiseman, Devon Hartley); April Madrid (Issac Gutierrez, Izael Madrid); Samantha Amacker (Jacob Amacker, Aiden Wise); Christopher Amacker (Celena, Stephanie, Robert, and Annie); and Angelica Collins (Richard Collins, Marcelino Collins, Elijah Collins).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Willard Amacker, and his sister, Barbara.

Kerry will be remembered as a strong, loving, and respected man — a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. His presence, his stories, and his love will be missed every single day.

A Memorial Service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 592 E. Safford St., Tombstone, Arizona 85638, on May 16th, with the Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and Mass to follow. Burial will take place at the cemetery after the Mass and a Celebration of Life following that at the Vigilante Hall.

In honor of Kerry’s love for music, the family asks that attendees wear their favorite rock band t-shirt or any music-themed shirt to the services.
