Josie Sierra Tellez

Josie Sierra Tellez, 82, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on October 15, 2026.

Born on December 26, 1943, in Arizona to Felipe and Herlinda Sierra, Josie was raised in Tucson and graduated from Tucson High School. She went on to work as a clerk for the Tucson Unified School District. 

Josie will be remembered most for her generous heart. A truly giving person, she found happiness in the simple things that made life meaningful, especially the time she shared with those she loved. Whether she was enjoying her favorite novelas, playing bingo, crocheting, or simply being surrounded by family and her grandchildren, Josie treasured the moments that brought everyone together.

Her kindness and generosity will remain a lasting part of the memories she leaves behind. To her family, Josie was more than the roles she held throughout her life. She was a familiar and comforting presence, someone whose love was expressed through giving, sharing, and being there for the people who mattered most.

Josie was preceded in death by her parents, Felipe and Herlinda Sierra, as well as brothers and sisters. 

She is survived by her son, Johnny Tellez; granddaughter, Kristina Roman; grandchildren Liannee, Monica, Ace, and Lexi; her great-grandchildren; surviving siblings; and extended family.

Those who knew and loved Josie will carry forward the warmth of her generous spirit and the many memories created over a lifetime centered around family. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 30, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the Rosary beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Sensible Funerals & Cremation, 109 W. Grant Road, Tucson, Arizona 85705
