Holly Azalea Babb-Preusser, age 78 died September 18, 2025 in Tucson Arizona surrounded by family.
Holly was born March 9, 1947 to Joseph Preusser and Katherine Azalea Babb Preusser. She was raised in West Texas on a border that had not yet been tamed. She graduated from Valentine High school. She continued her love of learning throughout her life. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Regents College University of New York. She spent her life working in education and social services impacting thousands of lives from West Texas, Alaska, Arizona and the Pacific Islands.
Holly professed her faith in Jesus at an early age. She held strong to her faith throughout her life and was quick to grab hands and pray.
Holly was preceded in death by both of her parents. She also will be greeted in heaven by her grandmother, Jewel Babb and great uncle, Holly Wilson, whom she was caretaker for in their last chapter of life. She is survived by her children, Buster, Lori and Yvonne, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, cousins and numerous friends who will continue to honor her memory.
Holly’s warm smile came easily and whenever you spoke to her, she had a way of making you feel like you were the only person in the room, fully seen and heard. Her friends call her family and her family call her their best friend.
She didn’t only raise her three children but she will be remembered as a mom to many.
Among her natural gifts and passions were gardening, genealogy, storytelling, research, healing and spirituality. She leaves behind a legacy of human kindness, wisdom and the fierce heart of a warrior.
