Obituary

Listen to Obituary

Gloria Escobar went home to our Lord on January 27, 2026. Gloria was born to Jose “Tito” and Socorro Rodriguez on November 30, 1947, and raised in Tucson, along with her brother, Jessie and her sisters, Melba and Vivian.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Tito and Sookie, her brother, Jesus, and her grandson, Joey Escobar.

She is survived by her sons, Jose (Lourdes), Onofre, Fabian, Roman (Veronica), and daughter, Andrea (Frank). As well as a legacy of her grandchildren, Adriana (Daniel), Crystal (Irvin), Alyssa, Roman, Bryanna, Anthony “Doughboy”, Maya, Myranda, Mireya (Alexander), and her great grandchildren, Adrian, Irvin, Veronica, Juan Carlos (JC), Sonia, Angel, Annaleya, and Gabriela.

She is also survived by her sisters, Sylvia, Melba, and Vivian, as well as many nephews, nieces, and friends.

She loved her Arizona Wildcats and her Arizona Diamondbacks, and she enjoyed watching game shows like The Price is Right, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune. She also loved listening to Oldies music and cherished being surrounded by her grandchildren.

She gave her children a home full of unconditional love and happiness. That love was shared with all of our friends who came to visit, and she loved them as if they were her own.

Our hearts are heavy with loss, yet it is time for her to rest. She united with the Lord peacefully and quietly, surrounded by her family, who will miss her dearly.

She will be remembered as a giving and caring person, blessing us with her unconditional love. We carry that love in our hearts, bringing a smile to our faces as we remember the times we shared with our Sister, Mother, Nana, Tia, Cousin, and Friend.

We wish to thank Dr. Keng Pineda, Dr. Craig Hoover, Dr. Madhan Shanmugasundaram, and the Banner Cardiac Department Staff and Nurses who provided loving and tender care.

Her life will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at St Joseph’s Catholic Church 215 S. Craycroft Rd, Tucson, AZ 85711. Visitation will be held at 9:00 AM, followed by Rosary at 9:30 AM and Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her name be made to the American Heart Association for Women’s Heart Health https://www.heart.org/en/news/category-womens-health
