Fredric John Stephan, aged 83, passed away on April 28, 2025, after a brave battle with lung disease. He leaves behind a loving legacy, including his former wife, Julia Moles; his adored daughters, Sabra, Arika, Erynn, and Helen; his grandchildren, and his brother, Tim, along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews, who affectionately called him “Uncle Monster.”

Fredric had a unique gift for bringing joy to those around him, with a penchant for telling hilarious dad jokes and introducing his daughters to the music of Jim Croce and The Doors. He instilled in them a love of ranching, always encouraging their creativity, integrity, and individuality with warmth and wisdom.

An alumnus of Roosevelt High School, Fredric built lifelong friendships, although he missed his prom and graduation due to an unfortunate accident with the church lawnmower. He went on to earn his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Denver, where he met Julia. He furthered his education with a Master’s in Geology from the University of Minnesota.

Fredric spent countless hours volunteering as an EMT and firefighter. His commitment to serving others shone brightly in his role as a therapist with the Red Cross, offering support during times of disaster, including at Ground Zero, where his kindness made a lasting impact.

Fredric’s distinctive sense of humor, marked by a charming sarcasm and a delightfully dry wit, could light up any room. His favorite film, “Young Frankenstein,” perfectly captured this humor.

All who had the honor of knowing and loving Fredric will forever hold him close in their hearts, remembering the abundant joy and laughter he brought into their lives.
