Fernando Borquez Ruiz

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Fernando B. Ruiz, who departed this life on May 31, 2026, at the age of 76.

Fernando was born on October 5, 1949, in Tucson, Arizona. He lived a life marked by strength, perseverance, and dedication to the people he loved. A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Fernando carried the values of honor, determination, and resilience throughout his life.

Fernando had a passion for restoring antique cars. In his younger years, he enjoyed bull riding. He also enjoyed watching horse races and sharing conversations with family and friends. One of his greatest joys was talking on the phone with his grandson, Fabian Ruiz. Fabian was truly the light of his life and his greatest source of pride.

Above all else, Fernando was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his children, Fernando Ruiz and Erika Ruiz; Veronica Cain Roberts (Dennis) his grandchildren; and his siblings, Angelina Cates (Arthur), Dolores Barrios (Paul), Theresa Romero (Joe), Leonard Ruiz (Jenny), Lawrence Ruiz, and Sylvia Ruiz and many nieces and nephews.

Fernando was preceded in death by his parents, Artemisa B. Ruiz and Fernando L. Ruiz.

Those who knew Fernando will remember his determination, his strong spirit, and the deep love he had for his family.

Fernando fought courageously until the very end, demonstrating the strength and resilience that defined his life. While his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his family finds comfort in knowing that he is no longer in pain and is reunited with his parents, whom he loved dearly.

Fernando will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of his family and friends.
