Esther Redondo Anaya, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Sister, and Friend, passed peacefully into the arms of her savior on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. A woman of immense strength, deep faith, and a heart full of love, Esther touched countless lives with her kindness, her wisdom, and her laughter.
Born in Tucson, Esther faced life’s hardships with grace and determination. Losing her mother at a young age was a sorrow that shaped her, yet she rose above it with courage and a steadfast trust in God. She was a hard worker all her life, doing her best for her family no matter what the circumstances
She married the love of her life, Antonio Anaya, and together they built a family she was endlessly proud of. Esther is survived by her children: Rachel (Frank) Lopez, Mario (Stella) Anaya, Mark Anaya, Albert Anaya, Jack (Coral) Anaya, Jill (Jose) Serrano, and Maria Wedick, Jesse (Carol) Anaya, surviving brother, Danny Redondo and is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, her son,, Steve Anaya, her granddaughters, Asalia and Shannon, and her dear brother and sisters. She was also the proud grandmother to thirty-eight grandchildren and forty-one great-grandchildren, each of whom was a source of joy and pride.
Esther shared a unique bond with her brother and sisters - full of laughter, teasing, and fond memories that her family still cherishes. Her wit, quick humor, and ability to bring joy to any room made her a joy to be around.
A talented cook with a passion for sharing her heritage, Esther made a lasting mark on the city’s culinary scene through her beloved restaurant, Nana’s Mexican Food. Known for her unforgettable Mexican dishes, she poured her heart into every recipe, making Nana’s a place where people came not just to eat, but to feel at home. To her, food was love- every meal was prepared with care, seasoned with tradition, and served with a smile.
Esther leaves behind a legacy of faith, resilience, love and laughter. Her family and friends will remember her not only for her strength she carried through life but for the joy she brought to it.
A celebration of Esther’s life will be held at a later date. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with those she loved and now tests in the eternal peace of God’s presence.
