Donna Louise Grasso

Donna Louise Grasso, 63, of Tucson, Arizona died following complications from cancer on Monday, December 15th, 2025 .

She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on October 22nd, 1962 to Dorcas Elaine Boness (Schultz) and the late Donald Raymond Boness.

Donna graduated from Concordia High School in 1981 and went on to receive her Associate’s degree from the University of Saint Francis (Fort Wayne, IN) in physical therapy education. A woman of many interests, over the course of her life Donna enjoyed working as a hairstylist, librarian, medical records keeper, physical therapist assistant, and briefly as an organ donor procurement team member.

Donna lived in both Tucson and Phoenix and worked for several years as a physical therapy assistant at the Southern Arizona Veteran Health Care System where she provided outpatient and critical-acute inpatient services. She loved helping vets who served our country and was a valued member of the rehabilitation team. Donna left the VA system to learn new skills as a PTA in adult neurological rehabilitation and then in a workmen’s compensation clinic. Besides her passion for physical therapy, her life was dedicated to God. She spent much of her free time learning and teaching the Bible and was an active participant in ministries at her church.

Donna was preceded in death by her father, Donald Raymond Boness.

She is survived by her mother, Dorcas Elaine Boness; her brother, David Arno Boness, her first husband, Philemon Charles Steigerwald; her three daughters, Lauren Louise Richwine (Steigerwald), Amy Nicole Sordelet (Steigerwald), and Meg Elizabeth Todd (Steigerwald), and five grandchildren.
