Daniel Valentine Kirk

Daniel Valentine Kirk, age 82, passed away after a brief illness on December 11, 2025 in Tucson, Arizona, surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Buffalo, New York in 1943 he graduated from Akron High School in 1961 and went on to serve his country in the United States Army. He lived a life full of independence and had a love for nature, gem shows, hiking and exploring as he traveled to 49 of the 50 United States.

He was known for his kindness and compassion, and shared a deep bond with dogs. He is survived by his loving dog, Molly. He found great joy in music and was an avid concertgoer. He worked as a driver throughout his life and continued working until his illness, where he was affectionately known as "Grandpa" by his colleagues.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Irene and Joseph Kuraszkiewicz, and his brother, Leonard Kirk.

He is survived by his companion, Lou Miranti, two sisters, Diane (David) Phillips and Lorraine (Louis) Post, sister-in-law, Cathie Kirk, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.
