It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt appreciation for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Carl George Johansen, a beloved husband, father, and friend. Carl left us on September 29, 2026, due to complications during surgery, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Born on November 20, 1954, in Corning, New York, Carl was the cherished son of John and Marian Johansen. He was preceded in death by his father, John Johansen; mother, Marian Johansen; sister, Christine Fenn; and his daughter, Tamara Hough. Carl is survived by his devoted wife of 39 years, Patricia Johansen, whose steadfast partnership was the cornerstone of his life.
Carl's family was the pride of his life, and he leaves behind his children: Stephen Johansen, Hilary Repath, Misty Tompkins, Lori Peercy, and Debra Zuk. His legacy continues in his grandchildren: Jamie Wilson, Jeremy Adams, Jacob Adams, John Storm, Julite Storm, Jonathan Johansen-Hough, Amber Hough, Klay Hough, and Deserey Templeton, as well as his great-grandchildren: Erin Johansen-Hough, Lucas Johansen-Hough, Makenzie Daugherty, Asanya, Namilla, Riumi Templeton, and Judah Wilson. Carl was also beloved by his stepmother, Beatrice Johansen, and his siblings, brothers George Clowers, Michael Ruocco, TJ Johansen, and sister Hilda Seely, whose lives he touched deeply.
A proud veteran, Carl served in the Air Force from 1972 to 1975, where he demonstrated his unwavering commitment to service and duty. After his military service, Carl pursued his passion for business, graduating from Pima College with an Associate of Art degree. His career as an Anodizing/industrial Finishing Specialist spanned over three decades, where he was known for his dedication and expertise.
Carl's life was enriched by his involvement in community organizations, particularly those dedicated to the well-being of dogs, reflecting his compassionate heart and love for animals. His hobbies and interests, though not explicitly mentioned, were undoubtedly shared with those he loved, and his gruff exterior was a testament to his protective nature and deep love for family and friends. His willingness to help and care for others will be remembered as a defining trait of his character.

The funeral will be held at: Sensible Funerals & Cremations at 109 W. Grant Rd, Tucson, Arizona 85705. The viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at 11:00 AM. There will be a family reception to follow the service.
