With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of Arturo (Art) Romo Badilla, 72, of Tucson, AZ, into his rest on July 5th, 2025. Born in Tucson, AZ, he graduated from Tucson High School. Art was a fan of college football and basketball. He worked at TUSD and Banner University Hospital in maintenance for many years. Art was known to have a warm smile and was family-oriented. He loved family gatherings and holiday celebrations. One of his favorites was the 4th of July, sadly taking his last breath the next day. Art was known for being humorous and made many lasting hilarious moments and memories. Art’s memory will remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. Art was loved by many and will be truly missed.
He is survived by three living siblings: Anita Badilla, Mary Valdez, and Sonia Leyvas, and three deceased siblings: Jesus Espinoza (Bingo) and his wife, Liz; Ramon Badilla (Chuco); and baby Emma. Arturo is survived by four children: Arturo (Art) Jr. Badilla, Virginia Badilla-Baxter, Naomi Badilla, and Ricky Badilla, along with 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He also had 15 nephews and nieces whom he loved and was close to. Art had a long-term partner and girlfriend for many years named Joyce Tindell, who was there until his final resting peace.
