Anne Marie Shaw Reiners passed away at the age of 52 on July 15, 2024 from complications of her battle against colon cancer.
She was born February 24, 1972 in Florence, Arizona to parents Ruth and Curtis Shaw. She was the youngest of 11 children growing up in Coolidge, Arizona. She liked being the youngest, played sports, participated in band and was a cheerleader. She had an all American childhood.
In December 1988 she gave birth to her first child Tiffany, an experience that would set her on her future path in the medical field. She married her first love Jonathan Fonville in April 1990.
A young Anne balanced motherhood and the high demands of college to graduate from the nursing program as a Registered Nurse at Central Arizona College in 1994. She began her nursing career at Florence Hospital with her sisters.
She had her second child Jeremy in March 1995 and loved being a mother.
During her time at Florence Hospital she met Gerald Greenfield and married again in March 1997. In March 1998 her third child Jerod was born.
Anne had a passion for caring for patients who were going through one of life's most precious moments and was a staunch defender of Teen Mothers. She was hired for labor and delivery at Casa Grande Medical Center and loved the unit, but wanted to work at a more advanced hospital.
In March 1999 she began her 25-year career at Tucson Medical Center in labor and delivery on night shift, later moving to day shift. She loved her job and coworkers. They became her closest friends and her second family.
In 2000 she left her hometown of Coolidge and moved to Tucson permanently.
In June 2004 she married her final love Richard Reiners and welcomed him and his son Justin Miller into the family. In September 2007 she gave birth to Richard Junior completing the set of 5-children.
Her first of five grandchildren was born in July of 2008 granting her the title of “Nan” because “Granny Anne” was not an option.
She loved making her family and friends homemade costumes for her favorite holiday Halloween.
She also loved to travel, often taking the family on vacations to Disneyland, Hawaii, Mexico and even braving cross country road trips to give her children great memories.
She was obsessed with all things Disney and instilled that love in her whole family. For her 50th birthday she had her dream vacation to Disney World for the family.
Anne was more than just a mother, Nan, wife and nurse, she had the most giving heart. She would help people she had never met before. On more than one occasion she would help out new moms with baby clothes and supplies. She would do anything to help her friends and coworkers whether it was a house renovation, a room for a couple months, or simply being there for moral support. She touched more people's lives than anyone could count and saved more people than anyone could ever know. She will be forever treasured and missed by all that knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ruth and Curtis Shaw, her sisters Kathryn (Kitty) Ustic and Virgina Shaw, and nephew Nick Brune.
She is survived by her husband Richard Reiners, daughter Tiffany Gacon (Fonville) & husband Paul Gacon, stepson Justin Miller & wife Kiana Miller, son Jeremy Greenfield & betrothed Rachael Valentine, son Jerod Greenfield & betrothed Susannah Henman, son Richard Reiners Jr. and grandchildren Priseis, Zain, Hunter, Aurora, and Haaken.
While we are sad she is gone. This is a joyful celebration of Anne. The family is asking you to dress joyfully, comfortably, and colorfully. Shorts are fine even for church.
