Listen to Obituary

Jacqueline “Jackie” D. (Moses) Foster was called home on Christmas Eve, 2020 in Tucson, AZ. She was born in Knoxville, TN and raised in Cleveland, OH, on September 7th, 1948, as the eldest child (of 4) between Mary E. Moses, and the late Robert E. Moses, Sr.

Before graduating from East High in 1966 as an honor student, she met the love of her life, (now deceased) Theodis (Donald) Foster, having married him on Valentine’s Day, 1978. After completing high school, she attended Tri-C Community College in Cleveland, OH, where she took various business courses. She also has taken classes within Pima Community College, towards the same degree. During her time with us, she worked as a department clerk at various grocery stores, retiring in 2014.

Jackie was known for her loving and kind spirit. Through a rough and tough exterior, shined a woman who gave the clothes off her back to help the ones she loves. Her love for her grandson, KaDonn and her daughter, Tracy, was unwavered. Many say that one of Jackie’s greatest achievements was raising Tracy and assisting in raising KaDonn. Having moved to Arizona in 1974, Jackie worked hard to establish friends and connections throughout the state that lasted her lifetime, and their love has shined upon her descendants. On top of that, she was a lover of music, her friends and travel: a notable fan of the train! She belonged to a Black Diamond Card group and was a member of the DAV Auxiliary. Jackie had a hidden love for writing and reciting poetry, as well as Jazz & R&B. In the 35+-year old home Jackie & Donald built together in Tucson, records & speakers spread throughout the living room, computer room & kitchen, always ready to play.

Jackie is survived in death by her grandson, KaDonn Griffis; daughter, Tracy Foster; brothers, Robert E. Moses Jr & Rickey L. Moses; sister, Deborah “Debbie” Moses; mother, Mary Moses; nephew, Devarian (Tanichia) Moses; nieces, Dikeeta Moses & Janay Moses; and a host of cousins, grand nieces and nephews. She’s predeceased by her husband, Master Sergeant Theodis (Donald) Foster; her father, Robert “Bobby” E. Moses, Sr, and a host of close friends and relatives all held closely.

Jacqueline Foster will always be remembered for her devoted heart and dedication to her daughter and grandson, as well as having been able to marry her beloved high school sweetheart.
