Frank Bustamante
January 23, 1943 - April 29, 2022
We knew little the day God called you up by name.. Frank Nunez Bustamante, 79 was issued his wings and ticket to paradise on Friday April 29th, 2022. Born January 23, 1943, in Naco, Sonora, Mexico. To parents Natalia and Gregorio Bustamante. The oldest son and loved big brother to sisters Maria, Naomi, Theresa, and Diana. Frank lived an eventful life. Graduating from Tucson High School and then enlisting in the Navy, where he served a 4-year term. It was while serving he learned his life skill of welding. Turned it into a career working on various projects and later retired from Asarco Mines in 2019. Meeting his wife Diana in 1980 he began his greatest journey as a beloved husband. These two strong personalities connected instantly. There was never a dull moment full of laughter, besitos and random dancing in the kitchen. Together they raised six children, Cecilia, Jose, Sarah, Angelica, Francisca, Frank Jr.. He was always there for every sports game, band concert, award ceremony cheering from the sidelines, cigarette in hand and cold Pepsi or RC in the other. Working long days and sometimes nights, holidays were always his favorite. Making time to open presents on Christmas morning, being there to see the blowing out of candles for every birthday, driving the van around on Halloween so when the kids would get tired of walking, to finding the perfect spot to see 4th of July fireworks. If he wasn’t celebrating with family, he was out in the wilderness enjoying hunting. Chasing deer and aiming for the kill hoping to bring that tamale meat home for the holidays. Being promoted to Tata of 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He shared his stories, street smarts, innovative tactics and sarcastic bickering with each little one. "Aye, Tata". Frank was always there, whatever you needed him to do or whenever you needed help, even just someone to talk to. His memory will be carried on by his wife, children, grandchildren, son in laws, daughter in laws, sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and endless acquaintances and colleagues. Frank, your friendly smile and joking humor will be carried with us forever. We love you Daddy, Tata, Tio, Brother, Compa, Chico, Hun.. You are always with us.
